2008 Beijing Olympic UniformsThe Beijing Olympics and Paralympic fashions for staff, volunteers, and technical officials were revealed during the live, elaborate 200-day countdown event on January 20th at Rulun Hall, part of the prestigious Renmin University of China. German sports apparel giant adidas is providing the clothing which “feature ‘lucky clouds’, the same pattern used in the design of the Olympic torch—a delicate blend of Olympic concepts with Chinese characteristics.”

Each fashion group consists of a full range of products including polo-style shirts, surplus pants, zip-mock track jackets, baseball & bucket hats, sneakers, fanny pack, and even a water bottle. The various staff will be distinguishable by the coloring of design elements on their clothing: red for BOCOG staff, blue for volunteers, and grey for technical officials. BOCOG officials will be dressing 130,000 individuals in the adidas-designed gear for the event.

BOCOG executive vice-presidents Jiang Xiaoyu and Tang Xiaoquan were on hand for the ceremony, along with Wolfgang Bentheimer, managing director of adidas Greater China. Click here for an in-depth look at the fashions for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
