Design Teams Shortlisted for Olympic Park Venues

london olympics logo 2012Seven companies have been shortlisted to design a group of venues in the north of the Olympic Park.  The former community sports centre in Eton Manor, disused since 2001, will be transformed to provide a range of sporting facilities during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

During the Olympic Games the site will provide temporary training facilities for Gymnastic and Aquatic competitors. The site will host Paralympic Archery and Wheelchair Tennis during the Paralympic Games.

After the Games the site will provide a variety of sporting venues including a Hockey Centre and facilities for Tennis and other sports.

ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said: ‘The Eton Manor site will be transformed to deliver world-class venues and facilities fit for the Olympic and Paralympic stage, while leaving a significant sporting legacy in the north of the Olympic Park for generations to come.’

The seven shortlisted design teams are:

* Adjaye Associates Ltd
* Bennetts Associates Architects
* David Morley Architects
* Opus International Consultants
* S&P Ltd
* Sport Concepts
* Stanton Williams

The Eton Manor design contract is expected to be awarded early next year.
