An organizing committee was formed on Friday to stage “good luck Beijing”, a threesome of aquatic events that will be held over the next few months. The committee has been urged to place a strong emphasis on “preparatory work” for the three aquatic events that will be held in Beijing’s National Aquatics Center in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games - swimming, diving and synchronized swimming.
These events will produce a total of 42 Olympic medals, second only to the 47 medals that will be up for grabs in track and field. During the “good luck Beijing” sport events, the organizing committee will be testing the functionality of the new stadium, which was funded entirely by donations. Special emphasis will be placed on finding solutions for any problems that may be encountered with competition schedules, media operations, personnel assignments and logistics. Here are the dates for the three “good luck Beijing” events:
“Good Luck Beijing” Swimming China Open, January 31st to February 5th 16th FINA Diving World Cup 2008, February 19th to 24th 2008 Olympic Games Synchronized Swimming Qualification Tournament, April 16th to 20th
